House on a Rock

Designed for a single user, this house literally locates itself on a huge bed of rock within the V houses property in Kharkhardi, 2 hours from Alibaugh. The load bearing structure consists of 3 closed spaces, a living space, a kitchen, and a bedroom; located on different levels morphing the natural topography of the existing rock. Each indoor space spreads into its outdoor expansion, making the experience of living in a natural environment incoherent. The strategically sculpted landscape in and around the house drapes the house into the natural environment, making the Mangalore tiled sloped roof appear floating from miles away.
